About Us

For over fifty-five years, Toronto Malayalee Samajam (TMS) has been a vibrant pillar of our community in Toronto, celebrating our rich culture and heritage. As a voice of Kerala away from home, it plays a vital role in preserving our traditions and fostering unity among Malayalees.

The Toronto Malayalee Samajam (TMS), established in 1968, is the premier and most prominent Malayalee cultural organization in North America. Over the years, TMS has been actively promoting Kerala’s traditions, festivals, and community interactions in the Greater Toronto Area.

TMS was born out of an existential need, a lifeline for the early Keralites in Toronto who, few in those days, longed for connection, battled loneliness, and sought to stay informed about the daily happenings back home in Kerala.
